Parents have an awesome responsibility. We are responsible for training up our children. The pressure of wanting to raise our children correctly has caused us to seek out all kinds of alternatives. We have sought books, magazines, television shows, and even each other for advice. After all of our seeking we come to the same conclusion; every child, every family, and every advice is different.

We find ourselves back at square one with more questions, less time, and a stronger desire to do things right. After all your seeking you may be exhausted and ready to throw in the towel. Before you give up and accept the mind set of “ things will never change.” Would you be willing to try one more book? It has a 100% success rate. It has been proven to work with all kinds of families. Anyone who has every tried it was more than pleased with the out come of it. The book I am referring too literally has the answers to any question you can ask or think.

Before I go into the book I want to give you an illustration of a common problem parents face. Sometimes it can be difficult to get kids to try new things. Read a mother’s attempt at trying a new meal for dinner.

Mom: It’s time for dinner! (she decided to try something new and exciting for dinner tonight.)

Kids: ( sit down and see the meal and begin to frown up their face. The kids all say at the same time.) I don’t like it.

Mom: How do you know if you like it or not? You haven’t even tried it.

I believe most parents have had a similar conversation with their children. When this has happened in my family I say two things; Try it! If you don’t like it, you don’t have to eat it. I also say to them, “ How did you find out if you liked ice cream or not? You had to try it first.” Well today I want to say to all of you, try the bible! The only way you will find out if the bible truly works is to try it. If you do not see the results you are looking for then stop using it.

I believe that you will be more than satisfied with the results. The very first tip from the bible I would like to share comes from Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

If you want direction for your day begin the day with 3 simple steps: praise and worship, prayer and bible time. This may sound time consuming but it doesn’t have to be long.

  1. Praise and Worship
  • If you are really busy in the morning you can sing in the car on your way to work/dropping the kids off at school.
  • Sing while you are getting dressed in the morning
  1. Pray-
  • Before you get out of bed in the morning.
  • While you are in the shower or while you are doing your hair.
  1. Read the bible-
  • Have your child read from the bible while you are driving them to school. ( You can read one chapter of Proverbs a day. If the day is March 16 you can have your child read from Proverbs the 16th chapter.)
  • If you ride to work alone. There is a website that offers audio devotionals daily. The website it called Our Daily Bread (www.odb.org) They offer prayer, scripture verses, and short story to help you understand the scripture verse better.

If you stay home with your children make praise and worship apart of your morning routine. If you would like some help getting praise and worship started in your home you can read my previous article “ How To Teach Your Children The Bible.”

www.Christianhomeschoolhq.com  Challenge: Make a list of questions you want answered and commit these questions to Jesus Christ in prayer each day. After praying turn to the back of your bible. Use the glossary to look up the key term from your question. For example, if you want to know how to get your children to pray, look up the word prayer in the back of the bible. Write down all the scripture verses associate with prayer and read them. After praying pause (selah) and give God a chance to answer your question.
